Meet Virpal Kaur

Hi! I’m Virpal, a traditional Reiki Master here to help you on your healing journey. I restore people to balance and wholeness by working with universal life energy. In an energetic sense, we’re each like a rainbow — a single being made of distinct vibrations. I work with each part to bring connection and flow to the whole. That’s one reason I call myself a rainbow warrior and a lightworker.

To heal ourselves, we must awaken our connection to Mother Earth and all her beings

I was introduced to Reiki in 2016. At the time, I had an advanced business degree and 15 years in financial and business analysis. I knew there was more, and I was here to do it. The problem was, I didn’t know what “it” was.

On a solo trip to Bali

I learned about an array of healing arts: Chi Ni Tsang, Tui Na, Chinese astrology, kinesiology, meditation, yoga and, of course, Reiki. Something deep within me knew that Reiki, with its emphasis on balance and interconnection, was “it.” The thing I’d been yearning for.

Reiki resonated with parts of my Sikh ancestry and upbringing: earn honestly, share abundance with those in need, and always remember my connection to the Divine. I also connect with the Andean teaching of ayni, or reciprocity, in which everything is an energy exchange and interconnected. Today for you, tomorrow for me.

I reveled in my Reiki experience in Bali and, immediately upon my return, dove into a certification program in the lineage of Reiki’s founder, Dr. Mikao Usui. I started practicing on friends and family in 2016 and began to offer Reiki sessions professionally in 2020.

Since earning my Reiki Master certification,
I’ve also deepened my practice with:

  • Shamanic tools and traditions from South American lineages (June 2018)

  • Foundations of Ritual & Animist Psychology courses with Daniel Foor (Dec 2020)

  • Wild Woman Circle Leader Training with the Wild Woman Project (Dec 2020)

  • Community Herbalist course (October 2022)

Connection is the cure

I believe that so much of the pain on this planet is caused by disconnection. When we’re disconnected, we live our lives from an unclear perspective. We hurt ourselves. We act without considering other humans, the myriad forms of life on our planet, and our beloved Mother Earth.

The antidote is connection. Connection with ourselves and to our inner wisdom. Connection to others and the Earth. This promotes healing for the body and mind, which allows us to act from a place of clarity and love. Much of my own reawakening has involved working with plant medicine and connecting deeper with the world of Animism.

This is also the work of Reiki. Opening the flow within our bodies and connecting to source energy. When we awaken our connection to the earth and all beings, we heal. And when we awaken our connection to self as part of the whole, Earth heals.

A little about me

  • I have a thing for wild cats

When I was a kid I named my orange and white tabby cat Tiger. In the last few years, I’ve realized jaguars and the big cats are my protectors and guides. They help me tap into my courage and strength, remind me to take action only when necessary to protect myself and others, and to stand up justice in all ways. Love itself can be fierce and courageous. It’s a potent force I bring into my work with each client.

  • I love dancing my native dance, Bhangra

There’s something about listening to music in my native tongue, Punjabi, that gets my blood pumping and brings a huge smile to my face. :) So much energy and excitement is put into it, and dancing barefoot is very grounding for me.

  • Favorite color: Rainbow

I’ve loved rainbows since I was a child. I still remember the big rainbow my first grade teacher had painted over the inside door of our classroom. Rainbows represent love, unity, and oneness for me.

  • I grew up in a spiritual community

I was raised playing Kirtan and singing Sikh hymns. The word “Sikh” means seeker of truth and Sikhism is rooted in love. Sikhism stands for the equality and oneness of all beings, so standing up and seeking justice for the voiceless is in my blood. A big teaching in my upbringing was selfless service (seva), whether through a community kitchen, providing shelter, or sharing wealth and abundance with others in need. These basic teachings have grounded me and given me a sense of what is truly important. I’ve had the honor to be of service more and more recently, and it truly brings me joy to support members of my community as they are healing.

Corporate stress? I get it.

Having worked in the corporate world for 15 years, I understand the pressure caused by the high stress, fast pace, and constant change at work. I can help you destress and reconnect with life source energy.

Misfits Welcome.

I know what it feels like to not fit in — in a world where we’re told to squeeze into the boxes society created for us. Let’s unearth your most authentic self and help it shine.
